Hello Kinnelon resident - This site is for YOU - from neighbors who know that our actions today are impacting the health of planet Earth. Together, we're learning to 'think global and act local,' to create quality lifestyles, based on respect for creation, wisdom, and eco-friendly living. KC is open to all - no dues to join - just fun, information, and contact with some of the nicest, most far-sighted, environmentally protective people in town. Please email and let us know who you are so we can keep you informed of local environmental matters. Welcome!
Kinnelon Conserves is a grassroots environmental initiative conceived by
Avery Hart and co-founded with Jo Sippie-Gora and Belinda Hull in late 2006. Working with a group of grassroots members including school, government, library, faith leaders and interested residents, including Arden Knudsen, Mary Derstine, Lori Cohen, Dana Spies, Susan Clancy, Donna Perch, Camille Gaines, Julia Puccia, Audrey Finn, Junie Moon, Janet Windeknecht, Pam Meredith, Library director Barbara Owen, Monsignor Carroll of OLM, David DeSmith of St. David's Church, Mayor Sisco and DWP head, John Whitehead, we have worked to boost environmental aswareness in Kinnelon. We thank our student volunteers, including Connor Horton, Matt Vail, Richad Becker, Sam Scarfone, Kendall Finn, Marissa Weis, Ryan Neff, Justine Scarfone, Matt Scorza and others past and present. Our annual Earth Day Fair is created in cooperation with the amazing energetic and efficient educator Noreen LaFergula,. During 2007 - 2008, 285 residents signed on as members of Kinnelon Conserves, by taking a pledge to reduce their use of energy and natural resources. Kinnelon Conserves is not a 501C - It is an "out of pocket" all the way. If you would like to support our activities, please contact us. kinnconserves@optonline.net

When YOU ARE READY for a home energy audit, though we m ake no official recommendations, our members have had positive experiences with these companies:

GOOD NEWS FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
On Nov. 19, the Kinnelon Council voted to preserve the 163 acres Weber tract - a move that will greatly expand Silas Condict Park. Thank you, Mayor Sisco and Council Members for preserving this pristine land with its vernal pools and ridge line vistas. Congratulations also to those who helped make it happen - the residents who took action and added their voices to make preservation a realitiy/ On the night of the vote, students Amanda Hagl, Mary Fischer, and Karmah Munem made excellent and persuasive arguments for the preservation, touching the hearts of all who heard their appeals.

"Now let's give energy of love and gratitude to the waters and all the living creatures in Mexico Gulf by praying like this:
To the water, whales, dolphins, pelicans, fishes, shellfishes, planktons, corals, algae and all creatures in our Gulf of Mexico:
I apologize.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you."
